Dazzling
the family beach
the hot parked cars.
rogue wave--
before its chaos
the family beach
Opening
this common scallop ...
such Art in its shell.
To join them
swimming past safety
to the gentle rolling waves.
In moonshine
a stroll on the beach
... being alone.
at the beach tonight
feeling the seconds in waves
as they come to pass
Sunset beach
no children left
to guard their sand castles.
Family beach
girls young enough to skip
to the ice-cream van.
Loneliness ...
sprinkling the quiet surf
with father's ashes.
Watching gulls
together on the beach
the dog yawns too.
storm wreak
a homeless man
bent over
Learning to ignore
the seaweed stench
gulls on the empty beach.
