Boy’s butterfly kite
with nothing to snare it
but a summer cloud.

Mangrove mud
letting the tide return
in small sun flashes.

Endless giggles
her kitten chasing
the wall’s torchlight.

So headstrong
gunning into the life of a Pine
the wood pecker.

First date
bubbles leaving
the warm champagne.

All is winter
the stillness of the snow
drooping Pines.

Winter is all bare
just the solitary jabs
from a woodpecker.

Week day harbour
the glinting of boats
only gulls come to.

Ah! almost summer
a school boy fishing
from the old wood bridge.

On the orange sea
sunset
sliced by the horizon.
